We are offering several written exams for certification. No review will be offered with the exams.
Most of the exams require a workbook to be purchased and will be used as reference material for the open book exam.
Advance self-study is highly recommended.

A Concrete Flatwork Associate (formerly Concrete Flatwork Technician) is a person who has demonstrated knowledge (via a written examination) on proper procedures to place, consolidate, finish, edge, joint, cure and protect concrete flatwork.
An Advanced Concrete Flatwork Finisher (formerly Concrete Flatwork Finisher and Technician) is a craftsman who has demonstrated the knowledge AND skills and/or experience necessary to place, consolidate, finish, edge, joint, cure and protect concrete flatwork.
Scope and Knowledge:
JTA for ACI Certification of Concrete Flatwork Associate, Finisher, and Advanced Finisher
The primary technical resource for these programs is ACI “Concrete Craftsman Series” CCS-1, Slabs on Ground. These programs require the demonstration of knowledge and/or hands-on skills in the following areas of concrete construction and as listed on the Job Task Analysis (JTA):
- Planning for slab-on-ground placement
- Concrete materials, mixture proportioning, and control tests
- Preparation before placing concrete
- Floor flatness and levelness
- Placing equipment
- Finishing tools and equipment
- Procedures for finishing slabs-on-ground
- Jointing
- Curing and protection of concrete
- Finishing problems and possible solutions
CP-10, 3rd Edition: Craftsman Workbook for ACI Certification of Concrete Flatwork Finishing is a study guide containing the required standards, program information and instructional material for the exam. A limited number of these workbooks are available for purchase from the Kansas Chapter ACI at a discounted price. Once these are sold out, workbooks are available for purchase on the ACI website.
A Residential Concrete Foundation Technician is an individual who has demonstrated knowledge of residential concrete foundation construction and the codes and standards that apply to this segment of the concrete construction industry.
Scope and Knowledge:This program requires demonstration of the knowledge covered on the Job Task Analysis (JTA):
JTA for ACI Residential Concrete Foundation Technician Certification
The JTA is a detailed list of specific points of knowledge that may be included in the examination for this ACI Certification program. ACI urges candidates to use the JTA to prepare for the certification exams.
Specific areas of knowledge covered in this program are:
- Building Codes
- Soils and Excavation
- Footings
- Foundation Walls
- Cold-Weather Concreting
- Concrete Properties and Placement
- Backfilling
- Waterproofing, Dampproofing, and Drainage
- Troubleshooting
CP-55PACK - Residential Concrete Foundation Technician Reference Package is required for the exam (open book) and is available for purchase on the ACI website.

A Concrete Construction Special Inspector is a person qualified to inspect and record the results of concrete construction inspection based on codes and job specifications. The program covers inspection during preplacement, placement, and post-placement operations.
An Associate Concrete Construction Special Inspector is a person who is knowledgeable about inspection procedures for concrete construction, including preplacement, placement, and post-placement operations; but does not have the experience required to qualify as an ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector.
This program requires demonstration of the knowledge covered on the Job Task Analysis (JTA):
JTA for ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector Certification
The JTA is a detailed list of specific points of knowledge that may be included in the examinations for this ACI Certification program. ACI urges candidates to use the JTA to prepare for the certification exams.
CP-21: ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector Reference Package is required for the exam (open book) and is available for purchase on the ACI website.
A Concrete Transportation Construction Inspector is a person who has demonstrated proficiency in concrete inspection methods for transportation projects, including preplacement, placement, and post-placement operations.
A Concrete Transportation Construction Inspector-in-Training is a person who has demonstrated knowledge in concrete inspection methods for transportation projects, but does not have the experience required to qualify as an ACI Concrete Transportation Construction Inspector.
The JTA is a detailed list of specific points of knowledge and/or skills that may be included in the examinations for this ACI Certification program. ACI urges candidates to use the JTA to prepare for the certification exams.
JTA for ACI Certification of Concrete Transportation Construction Inspector
The program requires a knowledge of concrete construction, including plan reading, soil-cement, piling installations, formwork installation and removal, reinforcements, embedments, sampling and testing freshly mixed concrete, conveying, placing, consolidation, finishing, jointing, curing, and protection.
CP-31: Transportation Inspector Reference Package is required for the exam (open book) and is available for purchase on the ACI website.

This is a Written exam session only, NO Review will be given for any of the exams. Come prepared to take the exam.
Registrants are required to read and agree to ACI Certification Policies.
ADA Accommodation
Individuals certified through this program are typically expected to be capable of reading, comprehending, and executing procedures requiring strenuous physical activity, and possess a level of fitness required to safely execute the procedures. Registrants must indicate that they are aware of the physical abilities and fitness level appropriate to participate in the program either 1) without accommodation for either permanent or temporary disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or 2)that they have contacted ACI and are in the process of applying for accommodation in accordance with ADA.
Cancellation Policy
Participant can cancel registration by emailing a request to [email protected] three (3) business days prior to the exam to receive a refund of the registration fees less the cost of any study materials. Substitutions may be made at any time prior to the event by emailing [email protected]
